Christmas in the Village is a beloved annual tradition that transforms the Meridian Historical Village into a 19th-century holiday scene, complete with period decorations, costumed volunteers, and a community tree lighting.

What to Expect
Decorated Buildings (2 – 4 PM)
All Village buildings are open and decorated for the holidays in period-appropriate style. Volunteers dressed in 19th-century clothing welcome visitors and share stories of how Michigan families celebrated the holiday season in the 1800s.
Gift Shop
The Village gift shop is open during the event, offering unique gifts with a historical theme — perfect for holiday shopping.
Community Christmas Tree Lighting (4 PM)
The afternoon concludes with the Community Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at 4 PM. Gather with neighbors and friends as the Village tree is lit to mark the start of the holiday season.
